Legal Notice & Disclaimers

Last updated: July 2026. Please read this page before relying on, quoting, or getting angry about anything published on thethreads.ca.

1. Independent publication — no affiliation

The Threads (thethreads.ca) is an independent editorial publication. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to any musician, band, band member, estate, manager, record label, publisher, or other rights holder discussed on this site. All band names, trademarks, and trade names referenced belong to their respective owners and are used solely for the purpose of identification, commentary, criticism, and news reporting.

In particular, this website is not associated with The Threads, the Edmonton band. The operator of this site has no association, affiliation, or contact with that band in any way. Inquiries about that band should be directed to the band's own Facebook page.

2. Editorial nature of content

This site publishes historical commentary, criticism, review, and documentary-style reporting on matters of public record and public interest concerning well-known public figures and commercial entities. Content is drawn from widely published sources including books, autobiographies, court filings and judgments, contemporaneous news reporting, and on-the-record interviews. Section headings, summaries, and framing (including terms such as "case file," "verdict," "charge," and "betrayal") are editorial devices used for narrative style; they are expressions of opinion and characterization, not assertions of criminal conduct or legal findings unless a legal proceeding is explicitly described as such.

3. Accuracy and corrections

We make good-faith efforts to ensure factual accuracy. Music history, however, is contested terrain: participants' accounts frequently conflict, and details reported at the time are sometimes revised decades later. Where significant disputes exist, we attempt to note them or omit the claim. If you believe any statement on this site is materially inaccurate, please contact us via the contact page with supporting sources. We will review promptly and correct, clarify, or remove content where warranted. This corrections process is offered in good faith and does not constitute an admission regarding any content.

4. No professional advice

Nothing on this site constitutes legal, financial, or professional advice of any kind. It is history and commentary, offered for information and entertainment.

5. External links

This site links to external websites, including official band sites and reference resources, for the reader's convenience. We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for the content, accuracy, or practices of any external site. Links do not imply any relationship with the linked party.

6. Intellectual property

Original text, design, and compilation on this site are © 2026 thethreads.ca. Brief quotation with attribution is welcome. This site does not reproduce song lyrics, album artwork, or other copyrighted creative works; it describes historical events in original language. If you are a rights holder and believe any content on this site infringes your rights, contact us via the contact page and we will respond promptly.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator of this site shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of, or reliance upon, this site or its content. The site and its content are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including as to accuracy or completeness.

8. Privacy

This is a static website. It does not require accounts, does not set tracking cookies of its own, and does not collect personal information beyond what you voluntarily send by email. Web fonts are served by Google Fonts, which may log requests per Google's privacy policy. Hosting infrastructure may keep standard server logs.
